USBC Initiates Reorganization with Renew Focus on Member Experience

USBC October 05, 2009

ARLINGTON, Texas - In an effort to enhance the entire membership experience, the United States Bowling Congress has created a new structure aimed at improving relationships with associations and bowling centers.

"The time is now for USBC to renew its focus on members, association volunteers and grassroots supporters," USBC Executive Director Stu Upson said. "The changes we will implement are designed to build relationships with members, improve communication and provide a better overall experience with USBC."

The new structure at USBC headquarters involves the formation of a marketing and member services group. This change will bring the marketing, youth development, membership development, association development and Bowling Information Center teams under one umbrella. The new group will initially report directly to Upson.

"We have some outstanding staff at USBC, and I believe this structural change will enhance their ability to work more collaboratively to serve the membership," Upson said. "Members can expect greater clarity from USBC about programs, a better connection to our products and improved customer service."

USBC will also create a new team of regional association managers. The team will consist of several USBC staff members specifically assigned to be the primary contact for association leaders and proprietors in the field. The mission of the team will be to strengthen associations and develop relationships at the bowling-center level.

"I believe USBC needs to tap into some of the things that made our organization great years ago," Upson said. "I want our association leaders and industry partners to recognize that USBC is committed to our shared success and that we understand our focus needs to be about bowlers on the lanes and their experiences."
